A Night at the Museum-A Festive Thanksgiving Party

Last night we attended Waterford’s first ever Thanksgiving Party in the beautyful Medieval Museum. The chart-toppers Delorentos played a surprise set for guests before going on stage at the Theatre Royal.

A Night at the Museum – A Festive Thanksgiving Party was a collaboration between Waterford Chamber, Waterford Chamber Skillnet, EveryEvent and Winterval to give the business community the opportunity to give thanks and help support Focus Ireland and The Samaritans.

The night began with a special showing of the Winterval Illuminates Light Show on Cathedral Square, to keep us all warm we were treated to a Muldoon Hot Chocolate and popcorn. Afterwards we made our way through the Museum to the Garden Room, where games were set up and we were greeted by Mrs Clauues and the elfs. A wine reception was in full flow and the most fabulous food was served by Flavourhaus ( you need check these guys out) followed by the delicious selection of deserts by Cakeface.

We knew the was going to be a surprise on the night and we weren’t disappointed , when the Delorentos played a surprise set. That really got the party started. Guests were asked in advance to bring a gift or donation to Santa for two charities Focus Ireland and the Samaritans.

Next it was time to visit Santa in his grotto in the old Wine Cellar in the Undercrofts, if you have never been to the Medieval Museum you need to go and see it. It is so beautiful and steeped in history. We had abit of fun with Santa and got our photo taken .Your never too old to have fun and just to tell you best Santa ever comes from Waterford:)) Check him out at Winterval.

We mingled the night away chatting and catching up with friends. All in all it was a fantastic night for two deserving charities and at times we all need to stop, take a step back and by thankful for the things we have in life, our family, friends and health and it’s good to be able to give back to those less fortunate

On leaving the event everybody was presented with a specially commissioned Christmas decoration made by Waterford Traditional Skills.
